Like all our other songs, this one was no exception and received its working title “2018-borgir” — the intention was to write something in the spirit of Dimmu Borgir, but the final music turned out completely different in mood. The structure almost immediately “appeared” from the flow of the Universe into our notes. What was missing was a proper intro. We struggled with it for a long time, created it in early 2023, and the track took its final form in 2025.
We studied the history of the Greek lyre and came across one of the oldest harps in the world — the Sumerian Ur harp, with its unique sound. A direct evolutionary line to the Greek lyre cannot be proven, but most music historians believe that the frame harp concept from Mesopotamia influenced the development of lyres in the Aegean region. To create a lively and interesting sound, besides the lyre we added an imitation of the bouzouki timbre — using an acoustic guitar with a special tuning. This made the intro more rich and “breathing.”

Demo version with a vocal pilot and the first idea for the intro:
For the bridge, we were inspired by the works of Alan Silvestri, particularly the music from our favorite movie, “The Mummy.” When we first showed the demo to Yevhen from Ignea, he suggested changing a single note in the bridge, and the mood of the passage became even more dramatic. We decided to keep in that way.
While composing the song, many ideas come to mind, which later need to be fiercely filtered, keeping only what is valuable and worthwhile. Here is a fragment that didn’t make it into the final version of the piece:

The next “red” theme for us is love and passion. We chose Eros as the embodiment of this force. The concept for the song was inspired by Eros and Thanatos from Sigmund Freud:
Eros - the life instinct - drives creation, preservation, love, and pleasure. Its energy, called libido, fuels life, growth, and social bonds.
Thanatos - the death instinct - drives destruction, self-destruction, aggression, and the return to a state of non-existence.
These drives constantly interact and balance each other in human behavior. Destructive impulses of Thanatos can be transformed through sublimation into socially acceptable activities, like art, sports, or challenges, channeling destructive energy creatively.
In the song, people kissed by Eros’ arrows fall into a fever of love: it can lift them to ecstasy or drive them insane. In the bridge, we wanted to show that Eros deprives people of will and forces them to reproduce, eventually passing them into the hands of Thanatos. The text is imbued with the idea that in the fever of love, people lose themselves, and everything blends into carnal shades. At the peak of ecstasy, the heart feels like it’s about to stop; the desire is to disappear into the cosmos of feelings, so the intensity is no longer unbearable.

Candle-people with burning eyes — one of the first artworks we drew during the massive shelling of our city. Why candles - because they burn from love, and to keep that feeling alive, you have to give a part of yourself. Outside — explosions; on paper — a skull with empty eye sockets. We debated for a long time whether to leave them empty or add flames.
